It all started when I watched my mother suffer domestic violence at age 5. My mother was choked unconscious in front of me.
At age 6 I was kidnapped and taken from my home in Waverly, Virginia to Kansas. I was retrieved days later.
At age 7 we fled my biological father and moved to Texas. This is why The Gatehouse is such an important organization to me.
In 2001 I joined the Army as a Combat Medic. While overseas I noticed how women were treated compared to men. 2005 I went into the fitness industry where 90% of my clients were women between the ages of 25-35 and lived alone. This is where I really learned just how much women had to deal with and how 75% of attacks come from someone you are already acquainted with. I started teaching self defense in 2006.
I started practicing Jiu Jitsu and self defense under Orlando Waugh in 2006. 2006 I started working as a self defense instructor and assisting Athena’s Strategies. I earned my Jiu Jitsu Blackbelt at Alvarez Brazillian Jiu Jitsu in 2015. Since 2006 I have run thousands of simulated attacks and prepared people for real world resistance.
